John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit through his songs of pop-folk, many of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's state anthems have inspired people to travel to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado in the same way as John Denver." In 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. For many, Denver is the Colorado image. In my journeys, you encounter someone on the other end of the planet, or someone of New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the first thing that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown explained. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working in small Folk Music Groups. The song was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver heard an early version it was clear that the track could become the next hit single.
