Aisling Bea

Aisling B a, born on 16 March 1984, in Kildare Ireland. She has been on QI together as well as Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) more popularly known as Aisling Bea, is an Irish actress writer and comedian. Bea started her professional career in stand-up comedy in 2011 after playing small roles she played for Irish and British television dramas starting in 2009. By 2012 she was regularly performing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. In 2012, after winning an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to appear regularly on numerous panel shows for which she has become a fixture. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team between 2016 and 2017 and is a regular contestant in its spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents are Brian and Helen O'Sullivan. She has one younger sister, Sinead. In 2012 she became the second woman to ever receive the So You Believe You're Funny award. The surname she uses is Bea to honor her late father. Aisling O'Sullivan, whose real name is as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian, an equine vet, who committed suicide after Bea reached the age of three, was a suicide victim. She was told about his suicide only after thirteen years of age. Bea chose to stage her name Bea in honor of her deceased father. She also wrote a 2017 article in The Guardian on her family's death experience. Bea, along with her older sister Sinead, were raised with Helen Moloney (n e Moloney), a former jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. Her family were obsessed with horses and race meetings. As a young girl, Bea was an assistant tour guide at the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young age that she was not keen on the sport of racing as a job, and loved performing.
